Our Alpharetta, GA dentist’s office knows that traditional metal braces are not the only way to treat annoying orthodontic issues in adult patients. We also know that it is never too late to get a better-looking smile!
So, if you are well past your adolescent years and you are ready to do something about your crooked, crowded, or gapped teeth, we would love for you to schedule a visit to Mint 32 Dentistry for a clear aligner consultation. With the new year approaching, there couldn’t be a better time!
Around here are two primary systems to choose from as far as aligners go. Both Invisalign and Inman offer an easier way to get the job done than wearing brackets and wires for 2-3 years. Keep reading to hear more about this exciting opportunity and then be sure to follow up with Dr. Morton.
What Makes Aligners Work?
The good news is that there won’t be any metal required. Both treatments use the same general principle: they consist of clear plastic aligner trays that are similar to mouthpieces.
Dr. Morton will help come up with a series of these custom-made aligners that will do all the orthodontic shifting in small increments. After you start the process, you’ll just switch them out on your own every two weeks or so instead of coming in for monthly in-office orthodontic adjustments!
Because both Invisalign and Inman aligners are made of a gentle yet durable plastic that feels natural on your gums, cheeks and tongue, it will feel natural as the process unfolds. Plus, they won’t be detected by any of your friends or co-workers.
No matter which system you pick, you will really enjoy the smooth, comfortable aligners in part because they are also removable. That means that your menu choices won’t have to be modified. And caring for your orthodontic gear is just a matter of rinsing the aligners under warm water!
At Mint 32 Dentistry, we have found both Invisalign and Inman to be safe, subtle, and effective programs. As long as you are wearing your gear for about 20 hours per day, treatment time is usually only a matter of 6-12 months with Invisalign, depending on the severity of the problems we are addressing. The Inman system works much faster than that, but it only focuses on the front row of teeth. Both plans offer great results in a fraction of the time that old-school braces would require, but there are a few differences between the two, which we can go over in detail during your consultation.
