Halloween is almost here so it might be a good time to review all the things that really scare you: ghosts, monsters, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video, dentists in Alpharetta, Georgia, and so forth.
We are just having fun when we insert ourselves into that list. But living in fear of the dentist’s office is a reality for many Americans. As such, it is nothing to be taken lightly. At Mint 32 Dentistry, we grasp the fact that dental anxiety is dangerous because it keeps folks from taking the necessary steps to keep up with their oral health needs.
If it makes you feel any better, Dr. Morton has invested heavily in the tools, training, and technology that will make it easier for you to come in and be treated, no matter how off track you have fallen. Keep reading to hear all about what we can do for you, and then be sure to follow up and schedule your next preventive dental appointment at Mint 32!
Your Needs Come First
It is always a good idea to address your fears and confront the reality of the situation in your mouth. Any problems aren’t just going to solve themselves.
By not visiting Mint 32 every 6 months, you will be missing out on the professional teeth cleanings that can keep disease and decay from taking over. Plus, you won’t have a team of caregivers who are sufficiently in sync with the situation in your mouth to be able to recognize any growing concerns.
Undiagnosed cavities, for instance, can escalate to the point where a root canal or extraction is the only reasonable treatment. This is the type of scenario that we want to help you sidestep.
In our Alpharetta, GA dentist’s office, we do everything in our power to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for all of our patients. And if you are still haunted by the ghosts of previous dental offices, we will do our best to create good memories for you moving forward.
Sedation Dentistry In Alpharetta, GA
Like we said, we are welcoming and compassionate around here. But if that isn’t enough to put you at ease, we’ve got you covered with sedation dentistry. In some cases we will literally put you to sleep! Depending on the severity of your issues, we will set you up with sedation in one of two forms:
For this method, we will administer nitrous oxide to you via a small mask that rests over your nose. You will breathe normally throughout your procedure, and our team of oral health professionals can regulate the amount of sedation you receive.
Nitrous oxide is enough for some folks, but if you suffer from mid-range dental anxiety, you are at a much greater risk of having problems and will need to kick up the sedation dentistry levels to get through your visit.
The oral sedation method of sedation entails a prescription sedative that our team will arrange for you to ingest, usually about an hour before your actual appointment is scheduled to take place. Oral sedation is far more intense than nitrous oxide, and will put you at ease for the duration of your visit.
